Musopen (www.musopen.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on improving access and exposure to music by creating free resources and educational materials. We provide recordings, sheet music, and textbooks to the public for free, without copyright restrictions. Put simply, our mission is to set music free.
The following graphic depicts the allocation of donations and membership fees with over 90% of every dollar going directly to increase the size of our music library.
Tax Deductible
As a registered non-profit 502(c)3, your membership is a tax deductible donation.
Request Music
Paying members get to prioritize the music we acquire by placing requests in our wishlist. Those at the top will be obtained first.
Get Music Earlier
As new pieces of music are added, paying members have access up to 2 weeks earlier than free members.
High Quality Uploads
HQ files are stored as lossless m4a files. When available, HQ downloads will be accessible by clicking the download button and selecting the desired quality level. Not all songs are available as lossless or high-quality uploads.
