Carlo Cotumacci was an Italian musician. Revealed in very early age a strong inclination for music, he entered the Conservatory of the Poor of Gesù Cristo di Napoli, where he was a pupil of M. Marchetti, N. Grillo, F. Durante, A. Amendola and N. Porpora. Follower of the teaching tradition of Francesco Durante, he wrote a number of works devoted not only to his students - of which seems to have been a part Giuseppe Gazzaniga - but to all teachers and aspiring musicians.
